August 27th, 2013 - Tuesday - Strength - Looking at the last few days of cards I was feeling into what they meant. They weren't so much predictive as they were descriptive. This is the big picture of what is going on in your life. Sometimes the card of the day can be a very small specific element of the day. For instance, today you could show a moment of strength. Or you could need a moment of strength. But if the cards are to be useful to us at all, and not just some vague wide wand of energy, we must look at them as they relate to us specifically. How can they specifically be useful? As predictive measures? As guides for what to do and what to look out for? As views of what is really going on?
The last few cards seemed to be cards of what was going on. And this card is the same. This is what is going on. There is strength and light. This is a descriptive energy of your life, you have faced some shadows and are being strong in those shadows, not by defeating them, but by acknowledging them. This describes you today. Where have you found balance and acceptance of your shadow? That is where you are strong and happy and congruent.
That's the deal that is important here. We have a fucked up society right not because it doesn't acknowledge the shadow. Back in the old times, the Greek's described all their God's (Zues and company) in terms of both shadow and light. That was the way we looked at people and even Gods. Now we have tried to deny the shadow and just emphasize the light, and that has caused problems. The shadow is just as much the person. And that is what this card is about and how it can specifically apply to you. Look into your shadow and accept it, strength and congruence will result.
