December 30th, 2010 - Thursday - Princess of Swords

Good Morning! Today we got the Princess of Swords... upside down. This card is ruled by Aquarius, an air sign, and of course Sword cards are Air Cards, or Mind Cards. This card is about ideas in the mind. LOTS of ideas. This is where manifestation begins, and dreams are had. And this card is saying... you might be taking on too much. You have SO MANY ideas... oh so many GOOD ideas... but that doesn't mean you need to do them all.

This card represents the Super-Woman Complex. Doing too much, over-committing to others. Working too hard on your ideas, without taking a moment to GROUND them and discover what you really want and need INSIDE.

We got this card upside down though, so it means we might not want to admit failure. Should we blame others for our cPublish Posthoices? Learn to not blame other people for YOU feeling overwhelmed. This is the drama card upside. You like the airy drama!

December 29th, 2010 - Wednesday - Power

Sorry for the delay today, but we had some major storms this morning here in Utah. Today's card is the POWER card. Law and Order. Gain of money and influence. Earthly power but nothing beyond. Success. Rank. Dominion. Skill in the direction of physical forces. Could be prejudice, covetousness, suspicion, and lack of originality on the negative side.

Obviously today is a day of having power within yourself. Ask yourself some questions: Are you abusing your power? Do you have integrity with this power? Today consider your own inner power and how you are using it.

December 28th, 2010 - Tuesday - Gain

Today we pulled this card upside down, which tells you this; you are in danger of worrying too much about money. Seriously. You are getting worked up about it, and you need to apply yesterday's lesson today. Prudence. Be prudent with money. Be patient with it as it flows toward you. It is coming. The money you need is coming, so relax. Today's card is telling you that you are not relaxing about it. Change your tactics. Do something different. Pray about, get quiet, feel into inspiration. And get rid of clutter. Do you have clutter around you? Get rid of it. Clear it out. So you have room for new stuff, more gain.

You've heard that before, but for today, just today, do some cleaning. Cleaning shit out and organize stuff. Do that TODAY. NOW.

December 27th, 2010 - Monday - Prudence

How you doing after the long holiday? Feeling good? Or wretched going back to work? Most people I met today felt wretched being back at work. Ug. It was tough. REALLY tough today. But that is why you pulled the Prudence card. You have to be patient and get through it.

This is a Sun Virgo card. Patience is required today. There is a natural flow. You are heading in the right direction, but... it's going to require you to be patient today.

December 26th, 2010 - Sunday - The Priestess

The inner intuitive card. But we pulled it upside down today. If today is a day of intuition, this card is telling you that today... you aren't listening to your intuition and you are in illusion. Better get quiet and do some breathing. Get back in touch. Slow down even more. Yesterday's card of the Prince of Swords is all in the air, and this card is kind of attached to that idea when it is upside down. You feel ungrounded.

This is a GREAT day to get out into nature. Don't stay inside today.

December 25th, 2010 - Saturday - Prince of Swords

Airy aspect of air. Angel of Turbulent Thought. Today... ground your ideas and thoughts in reality. This is swift intelligence... but can be a little up in the clouds. Too much air. Constant movement. Slow down today. Finish what you start. You have to move beyond just sitting in your chair coming up with neat new ideas.

December 24th, 2010 - Friday - Happiness

After all that cruelty and oppression, today you had some happiness! Good for you! This is good happiness. This is true. Have a great Christmas Eve!

December 23rd, 2010 - Thursday - Oppression

You have got to laugh at this. I mean the 9 of swords yesterday followed by the 10 of wands today. Oppression. More of the same. Your mind is putting everything down today. And why not, it's a couple days before Christmas and the stress is probably killing you!

Remember the definition of the word Oppression. It means to put something down. Who are we putting down? Well, yes, we could be tyrannical bastards putting others down, sure, but more often we are putting ourselves down, caging and oppressing a part of ourselves that wants to be free.

December 22nd, Wednesday - Cruelty

Today we pulled a sword, which is predominantly in the mind. Thoughts. And in the Tarot, thoughts are almost always bad. Really. We try to learn to do as much intuition as possible, and as little thinking as possible. There are all sorts of ways to do this, but it almost always starts with breathing and quieting the mind.

So Cruelty? What does this card mean, besides being cruel. Before we elaborate too much, can you guess who is being cruel to who? The Tarot always looks within. So you are probably going to be cruel to yourself in some way today, cruel with your thoughts.

Some words that come to mind with the Cruelty card are these: Agony. Worry. Loss. Illness. Hopelessness. Despair. suffering. Burden. Malice. Pain. Oppression. Shame.

The Darkness! Jesus Christ, that's a tough card, isn't it? GRIN! The Angels of Cruelty and Suffering lord over this Card. Are there such angels? Who knows, but there are definitely ENERGIES of Cruelty and Suffering.

One great thing to look for is how are you being passive aggressive? Sometimes you get this card and you say I'm not being openly mean or cruel, to myself or others. But where you miss it is where you don't see the little petty cruel passive aggressive shit you pull.

It is also possible... that you are punishing yourself for supposed misdeeds. Open your heart today and spend some serious time LOOKING at what this card means in YOUR LIFE, for ONE DAY.

December 21st, Tuesday - The Empress

Good morning! I did get behind on these over the holidays, so this good beautiful sunny morning I'm catching up. Tuesday I pulled the Empress Card, which is a powerful feminine card. This evening I went for and did readings for 5.5 hours on the winter solstice, reading probably 20 people. The nurturing card is the Empress, but as with so many things Tarot, it often points towards nurturing yourself. I think in a way that is exactly what I did. Doing readings for people is a service to others, but it serves within as well because you have to dig so deep into your own soul to give something of use to the people who come to you. I love doing it of course, but I think I was able to nurture a level of myself this day by helping so many people in a big party atmosphere as opposed to a single, longer, 1 on 1 reading atmosphere. It was fun, but no less real, and some of the readings were so powerful it was invigorating for all involved.

December 20th, 2010 - Monday - Princess of Cups

Today you want to be taken care of and are idealistically dreaming. Dreaming is a good thing. Today you want the best life has to offer without necessarily working for it. And that's okay too. We deserve the best just by being alive. Of course, what the best IS, is up for debate.

December 19th, 2010 - Sunday - The Universe

This is the end of the trumps. The Universe card, obviously signifying the end of the journey. I got this card upside down, again, which means that something is about to end, or is ending, but I am not complete about it.

What does this mean to you. Well completions are a good thing in life. We complete things. The cycle of the trumps is the whole cycle of life and projects and even thoughts. Upside down something you thought was done... might not be done. So knowing that get out your journal (I did mention the journal, didn't I?) and contemplate completions. What in your life feels like it just got done? Remember again that this is the card for they DAY. We are always talking miniature things today. It could be as simple as thinking your Christmas shopping is done. Or that you wrote a letter to someone but forgot to actually send it.

Or it could me big stuff. Either way, take some time on this rainy Sunday, and contemplate completions, and because we got it upside down... consider where you might NOT be as complete as you thought. And... hey, don't just limit this to the world outside. To the Matrix, as I like to call it. What about INSIDE? What things do you think you might have completed in your heart but didn't? Always fruitful going inside. The entire journey of the Tarot is exactly that . A journey inside.

I hope you have a beautiful Sunday. I look out my window on grey skies, and the sound of water dripping from my house as the warm temperature melts the snow. I sip green tea with lemon, and feel into the world and the moment and feel gratitude. This feeling is so far from Christmas and it's rush.

December 18th, 2010 - Saturday - The Priestess

Good morning. I know, it's Sunday, and you waited all day long for Saturday's card and didn't get it till now. I apologize.

We got this card upside down, so it is a little different. Right side up it would be a call to our intuition. This card REALLY indicates intuition. So if it's upside down... what does that mean? It means we are NOT in touch with our intuition. In fact, we are down into the illusion of life. And that happens sometimes, we forget to breath, we get up in our mind, or maybe we're just zoned out.

As always, stop, breath, take a walk, drink lots of water, rest, and take time to contemplate what is going on. If I haven't suggested it before, I would like to suggest it now, (or again) that you get a journal. Writing down your thoughts catalyzes things. And they don't have to be complete thoughts. You can just write down that you are having confusion. Or feeling bad. Etc.

So writing would have been a good idea yesterday. Take a look at your illusion. And considering Christmas is coming up, almost all of it is illusion, yes? Come on! Our society is a bit wrapped up in the commerce of Christmas. And we're all a part of it. Have you purchased at least 1 present for someone? Then you are caught up in it.

(grin)

Okay... you are wondering about today's card! Okay! Onward!

December 17th, 2010 - Friday - The Tower

Good morning again! How are you? Are you cheery? Seeing the tower is almost never a cheery moment for most people until you realize that you need to die before you die. Have you ever heard that expression? It actually has some merit. The concept of dying to the false self to accept the real self or 'non-self'. Not a bad idea. And we all have a pile of junk around us. Just from childhood, from living and growing. We accumulate junk. I heard one women describe it as an attic in her head, and it's filled with shit. It's time to spot light the shit in your attic and clean it out. And almost EVERYTHING has to go.

That's the way of these things.

Today the Tower means what? This is a DAILY thing, these cards, and so TODAY is about the tower. And the tower is a tearing down of false self leading to a rebirth.

BTW, this is another Aries card! We've been on an Aries kick lately, haven't we!

This card makes me think of a battle between your true self and your ego. Your ego doesn't want to die, doesnt' want to lose. And so it's fighting. But the UNIVERSE is now on your side. It wants to kill your ego. Your ego wants to survive. Today, in big or small ways, there is a battle going on inside you, and to the degree you can, please side with the universe. Let go into the universe. Let go and let it all come crashing down. Take out a knife or a hatchet and go into your attic and start killing things. Hack them up. Hack all the old shit up.

Tear it down.

And do it gleefully! Think of Captain Ahab, and his maniacal quest to destroy Moby Dick. You need your own maniacal quest today, to kill that waste inside you! The Tower will help!

Let me know how it goes! I'll report tomorrow on my own journey!

December 16th, 2010 - Thursday - The Emperor

Good morning! Today's card is the Emperor! Look at all that fiery red. Yep, it is an Aries card. It is a Trump, meaning it's part of life's path. The short look at this card is that it is the card of the masculine, particularly as it relates to family. This isn't necessarily the MAN in the family, but the MASCULINE. The masculine energy of direction and rules and values. Often seen as a father card.

I like to think of this card as the Karate card. Why? Well martial arts is the path of power self defense. Learning your POWER... but using it in controlled ways. Sounds a little like our virtue card yesterday, no? So what is our path today? To tap into our MASCULINE energy of direction and exercises it. So once again... look within to what needs to get done IN THE REALM OF THE FAMILY. You have the power to do it, and today there are some FAMILY things to do.

On another note, as I typed December 16th above I had a thought I'll share with you. December 16th is a lost day usually. Why? Because it is one of those days leading up to Christmas, the ones where when you see it written, your first thought isn't about the beautiful day ahead of you, it's about holy crap, Christmas is coming and I have shit to do!

That's what I felt when I wrote that down, and I thought the Emperor card was great, because I need to utilize my energy today to keep my family on track for Christmas. But... let's stretch that. Let's look to our family past and through Christmas JUST TO OUR LIFE. There is more than just Christmas. I think some people embrace it too much, or try to deny (Hello Scrooge) but why not see THROUGH it.

I'm sure there are tons of books written on who to have a great holiday and relax and deal with the stress. So I won't belabor the point here. But it is something that is occurring inside me, bubbling up so to speak, so I share it with you.

I will leave you with a quote from Suzzanne Wagner: "The test for power is not if you will have power but what you will do with power." Today the Emperor card is saying you have power. Point that point toward you family, and get done what needs to get done, and, like the Karate Kid, use your power for good. And take my challenge, and see through what is going on. See through to something deeper. Use your power to STAND up for something. STAND. I like that word. Today... the word that goes with the Emperor is STAND.

Have a great December 16th!

December 15th, 2010 - Wednesday - Virtue

Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well today. It rained last night and the sound on the roof was nice. Of course by morning it was an inch of wet snow. Be careful driving in Utah today! So we got the Virtue Card. On the surface that sounds good, right? You would guess that and you would be right. Today take some pride in yourself. If you look within, fairly, seeing the good in yourself today, the virtue INSIDE of you... IF... IF... you see this, and find it, then you can open and ENERGY will flow through you and this virtue, this honesty, will flow out to the world. So let me repeat that. Today look inside and see some of your virtues. See your goodness. And relax into those virtues, and then open your heart and energy will NATURALLY flow out to the world. Start by seeing some of your good part!

Remember, Wands are always ENERGY. This card is an Aries card, so it's got even MORE energy (and as an Aries myself, I know all about Energy!)

There are five energetic virtues that we should always be practicing, so give these some thought today: Gravity, Generosity of Soul, Sincerity, Earnestness, and Kindness. If you look within and see the goodness inside you, open, relax, and let it flow out, these five things will be the fruit.

The cool thing about the Tarot is that it SEEMS like a future telling device, but it really isn't. It almost ALWAYS tells you to look within. Know thyself. To observe yourself objectively. Cogito Ergo Sum. I think therefore I am. This whole topic is so pregnant, it is EVERYTHING. Look into yourself. Turn your autopilot habits off, and find out what makes yourself tick. This is sucky work sometimes. But the Tarot, on a daily basis will really show you how to do that. It is just a tool, but a fun one if you ask me, and it has an great knack for pealing you open and asking you to look inside. So many people won't do that. Shrug. What can you do? They won't look. But if you are reading this, I'm guessing you will look. And today see your Virtues, and let them flow out.

December 14th, 2010 - Tuesday - The Chariot

Today's card was the Chariot. Another Trump, which means it is part of the life path cycle. the Chariot simple message is to learn to keep your word. Make a promise today, and then keep it. Stephen Covey teaches that the surest way to build self confidence is to make 1 promise a day to yourself, and then keep it.

I'm doing an exercise practice with a friend of mine, and he has suggested that each day I wake up and decide ONE thing I want to do. And write it down. Something I want to accomplish. Think of it as a recipe. One thing I want to cook. And then each day, put that recipe in your pocket, and take it out every time you find yourself straying. Read it and think to yourself, what one thing can I do right now to get back on track to doing this recipe? And then do it.

So all of this is saying that to build focus, build confidence in yourself, you can write down little promises and do them, EVERY day. There are a lot of other practices in this area that can help you, foundational things not in the scope of the card, but it's a great little thing to think about today. I would encourage you for the next 7 days to write on a little piece of paper something you want to accomplish, and then do it. Start small. This kind of focus and promise making is what The Chariot is all about. (It's about a lot of other things too, but right now that is what feels right to tell you!)

And for all those who read this blog daily, if you ever have an experience with a card, email me and tell me about it. It's great to share insights and experiences. The cards never lie. That's what I've found out, but they often tell things in WEIRD ways. You can get a card that just doesn't seem to make sense, and then a few days later some aspect of that card will click, some unknown aspect even that you have to learn. It is kind of cool that way.

Okay, so we are caught up. I'll see you all tomorrow morning for whatever December 15th has in store for us.

December 13th, 2010 - Monday - The Magus Entrepenuer

Remember there are three Magus cards, and I use ALL THREE in my deck. Most decks tell you to choose the one you like the best, but I see them all differently, and so I use them differently. My teacher Suzzanne taught this way too. Anyway, this is the Magus ENTREPRENEUR. The simple way to look at this card, is that you need to learn some skills today. When in the process of life, there are times when you need to stop and just learn somethings. This is one of these days. Be on the lookout for times times and accept them and work on it.

December 12th, Sunday - Queen of Disks

Yep...I pulled it again. And it was upside down again. Do you think I listened? Nope. I didn't go outside and get out like I should have. Ug. Sometimes we just don't listen to the angels. I hope YOU did!

December 11th, Saturday - Queen of Disks

Today I pulled this upside down! What does this mean? Well, it's the home and hearth card, but upside down it suggests you need to GET OUT. Today I would take a walk. (Ironically, I did NOT get out and take a walk, but what are you going to do?) The mind will have it's way with you today if you don't get out and move and get away from spinning thoughts.

December 10th, Friday - Power

Another disk, this is the four of disks, the POWER card. This card suggests today that the learning you are going to experience is going to be about RESPONSIBILITY. It doesn't mean you are going to experience power today, instead you are going to have to deal with the responsibility of power, of accomplishment. Today, you are going to have to look inward and decide what kind of person you are going to be... WHEN you have accomplished a position of power.

December 9th, 2010 - Thursday - Failure

Failure is a tough card. It doesn't necessary mean you are going to fail today, it means instead that you are going to feel FEAR of failure. FEAR! So dig into your fear. And if you have ever heard me blather about how fears are good, because if you are going to kill your ego, the best way to do that is start with a hatchet or a chainsaw at your fears! So this is a great card! Get to work hatcheting your fears!

December 8th 2010 - Wednesday - The Hermit

First I want to apologize for being away for a few days. My partner had an appendectomy, and so things have been hectic. And Christmas doesn't help of course! Okay, so after a Tower Day, what are you going to get? But a Hermit Day. Turn inward and face your demon dogs of hell. Today, face your shadow!

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

December 7th 2010 Tuesday - The Tower

The biggest NO card in the deck, the Tower is also one of the greatest cards because it is the symbolic falling away of the ego. But it happens with DESTRUCTION. It can be painful, but it can also be liberating. It can be many things, but it is about the falling away of the ego. Today, it was upside down! So it tells you that something you fear is going to happen today. You've been warned about this, it's not a surprise. A crisis is coming. Make sure you breath deep. Remember the last few days about choices. Today, breathe deep so you can come from your spirit and NOT from your ego. The Tower Crisis isn't about bad things, it is the highest level process of destroying our ego so we can be free and happy. It is a GREAT card. A great day. It may look tough from the outside, and it certainly even looks tough from the INSIDE. But it will lead to greater light. Try try try to see this today. It might be impossible... but give it a go. Be a warrior. Face the tower as best you can.

December 6th, 2010 Monday - Strife

Today you got the Strife Card! Normally this would suggest there is conflict all around you, and that you should pick your battles wisely, but you picked this upside down today, meaning you should be careful of the choice you are making today. It could cause more hardship and struggle. So pay attention to your choices today, and again, as we said a few days ago, look at the long term consequences.

December 5th, 2010 Sunday - The Hierophant

Are you adhering to the values of your society and personal code of ethics? Messages are coming in. Take the time to listen.

December 4th, 2010 - Saturday - Love

Open your heart today and love others. Today is a day to open up. LOVE. Concentrate on love today.

December 3rd, 2010 - Friday - Adjustment

Today you could be making a legal decision. Make sure you are balanced and aware of the long term consequences of any decision you make today. Breathe.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

December 2nd, 2010 - Thursday - Truce

You pulled this card upside down today. You are the one who needs to make a concession today. you are the one judging others. It is time to forgive and move on. Be self aware. Look at where you are judging others. Find it inside yourself and root it out.

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

December 1st, 2010 - Wednesday - Luxury

You are going into EXCESS. Addiction. Things are breaking down.
