Card of the Week ~ Sunday, March 9th - Saturday, March 15th, 2014 ~ Pleasure

Card of the Week ~ Sunday, March 9th - Saturday, March 15th, 2014 ~ Pleasure ~

What!!? No! Really? Another week of the Pleasure card? Oh..........fine, if you insist. This week we will continue to focus on the small (or large) emotional fires that are currently churning, sputtering, howling, or softly glowing inside us. The purpose and direction of this internal stirring may not be truly known at this time so it it best to keep it protected and personal. Use this time to become intimate with what you are feeling and you will find clarity around those emotions. These feelings may be quite intense at times and we will be tempted to heave them forth unto the world, but don't. Work with the emotion this week to generate internal momentum, flow, and fire. In the world of Facebook, Twitter, texting, email, etc. we sometimes forget that not everything has to be shared. Sometimes sharing our feelings before the source behind them has fully clarified actually acts to dilute the emotions and delay the progress we should be making.

As we maintain a delicate exoskeleton around our emotions this week we can turn to the Beetle for guidance. There are roughly 400,000 species of Beetles roaming this earth which indicates that there may be multiple and varied sources feeding the emotions you are feeling and just as many cords tying it to outside people, places, and things. But remember, now is not the time to invite all those people, places, and things to the table. This is a solo journey for now.

The Beetle also reminds us that sometimes we have to work hard in order to train our bodies to open to pleasure, and oddly enough that opening can feel pretty gnarly at times. So many of us have trained ourselves to only marginally feel the full wash of beauty, delight, joy, or even happiness in our lives, but give it a shot this week. We might be surprised at what rattles loose or pleasantly comes forth once the emotional river is allowed to flow.
