March 10th, 2014 ~ Monday ~ Trickster Magus

March 10th, 2014 ~ Monday ~ Trickster Magus ~

As we dive into a week of cultivating Pleasure the first card we bump into is the Trickster Magus. Well done, my friend, well done! This means you have gone straight for the jugular this week and you are not holding back. Why do I say this? Well because you are butting up against hidden energies and emotions. Feelings probably long buried that you have danced around and never fully addressed. In fact, they are probably emotions or feelings that have been lacquered with fantastic stories, blame, or even self-deception.

As we open our bodies to pleasure we sometimes feel an equal amount of pain. It is like rigorously exercising your muscles after a' long hiatus. Ouch. Dig into the pain that has been associated with pleasure today and discover where you have been holding your pleasure hostage. Perhaps it is because you do not think you deserve pleasure, or because opening to pleasure makes you feel vulnerable. Or perhaps it is something as simple as you don't think you have time to engage in something pleasurable. Begin to ease this resistance today and be honest with whatever comes up as a result.

The Cicada is our insect guide as we begin to loosen the suffocating grip we have had on our pleasure. Cicada lay their eggs in the soil. As the nymphs hatch, they remain underground feeding off the sap from various roots. Some will stay underground up to 17 years before they emerge from their subterranean world to shed their skin.  This pattern is suggestive that we have long-buried, subterranean rumblings that are now inching their way to the surface. Slumbering feelings and judgement about pleasure and why we do or do not deserve it. Be honest about these feelings and meet them head-on. Life is too short not to engage fully.
